1. Dating and Community are separate

Dual Persian has two sides: Dating and Community (which includes Mums and Couples). Although one login can be used across the site, your Dating profile and Community profile are kept separate, including separate photos and details. Information from one side is not shown on, or merged into, the other.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account we collect your email address and password (for authentication) and your date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or over). Depending on which side you use, we also collect:

• Dating profile: name, age, gender, who you are looking for, bio, education, profession, height, city and country, and any photos you upload.
• Community profile: display name, city and country, an optional bio, optional interests, optional parent/couple status, and an optional photo.
• Activity: messages you send, and, on the Dating side, likes and matches.
• Approximate location: city and country, which you can type in or optionally fill from your browser's location.

3. Sensitive Information & Your Consent

Some information can be considered "special category" data under UK/EU data protection law and is given extra protection. On the Dating side, the details you provide may reveal your sexual orientation. In the Community, if you choose to add an interest such as politics, that may reveal a political opinion. We only process this kind of information with your explicit consent, which you give when you set up the relevant profile, and you can withdraw it at any time by editing or deleting your profile.

4. How We Use Your Information

• Create and manage your account and profile(s)
• Show your profile to other users (for matching on Dating, or in the Community)
• Enable messaging between users
• Keep the service safe and working, and improve it
• Send important service-related notifications

Our lawful bases are your consent (which you can withdraw) and our legitimate interest in running the service. For special category data (section 3) we rely on your explicit consent.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, in the London (UK / EU) region. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL, passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text, and photos are kept in secure cloud storage with access controls.

6. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Cloud infrastructure providers who host the site on our behalf (e.g. Supabase, Vercel)
• Law enforcement, if we are required to by law

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
